'The Future of Payment Systems and Economic Crime Detection'
A Policy Discussion Series

'the FUTURE OF PAYMENT SYSTEMS AND ECONOMIC CRIME DETECTION'
Research project:

The future of payment systems has far reaching implications for the future of economic crime vulnerabilities and, indeed, on the potential for detection, prevention and disruption capabilities to tackle fraud, money laundering and sanctions evasion.

However, policy-frameworks for developing payment systems and policy-making relevant to economic crime are too often disconnected and fragmented.

This research project and discussion paper series aims to explore the potential of payments infrastructure in enhancing the detection of economic crime.

Discussion papers released in this series so far include:

  • Part 1: The case for national policy-makers to unleash the potential of payments infrastructure to identify economic crime risk

  • Part 2: The case for the G20 cross-border payments reform ‘Roadmap’ to embed economic crime security by design
